This years Bright Lights Run is fast approaching and our chosen Charity this year Streetlife in Blackpool
Bright Light City 2015.......
As I look back on the last four years of Blackpool’s Bright Lights Run I can see a lot of changes and how much it means to all the deserving charities its helped.
Sure it doesn’t raise thousands but what it does do is raise awareness, both locally and nationally to the work they do.
To date you guys & gals have been responsible for raising £1860 and for that I applaud you as without your support it all wouldn’t be possible.
The road run gives like minded people and there cars a chance to explore other avenues of classic car ownership and provides a last chance to get your car out before its hibernation for the winter.
Its not just an excuse to blast your car around country lanes in good company or to drive in convoy whilst driving along The Golden Mile at the world famous Blackpool Illuminations.
Its a chance to have a laugh with new friends and old, as with this year keeping your wits about you and testing your long forgotten childhood skills of racing around a Scalextric track courtesy of Scalextech of Bolton. Not forgetting The Spark Plug Challenge a race against the clock to remove four spark-plugs from a cylinder head, it made for a very addictive and competitive afternoon which helped fill the charity cans.
All this, single track lanes, driving through Beacon Fell, The Trough of Bowland, Dunsop Bridge and The Wild Boar Park.
But don’t take my word for it look what your friends are saying about it............
“Big thank you to Garry for organising such a cracking day.
You put a lot of hard work into making it special for everyone, we will defiantly see you next year.” Guido Schembri Fiat X19
“Thanks for a well organised day, enjoyed it well done.” Chris Miller TR7-V8
“Garry so glad you did well, all that hard work, put on my calendar for next year. So well organised all through the day.” Jenny Mortimore in-between TR's
“We both really enjoyed the day and the weather was kind to us. Faultless timing and really well organised event. Will see you next year.” John & Ursula Morgan V8
I cant end this without a special thank you to everyone who attended this year, over £430 was raised for StreetLife a homeless charity in Blackpool.
Thank you to all that have helped and I hope to see you all and more next year Garry Yorke.
